Grant, Grant's mom and I just left the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. It's a favorite place to visit when we're in town. Today we saw many beautiful birds and 4 alligators sunning themselves. One interesting thing I noticed when I was looking at one of the alligators with binoculars, less than a foot away from the alligator, just hanging out next to it was this good sized brown rabbit. Yes a rabbit and it was alive. We thought we might witness some national geographic but the rabbit did hop away, at least for now...thank goodness.
I put you in my bloglines, but forgot your blog name! Alligators have long been a key dream (like, since I was 4) feature for me, though I'm not entirely sure why. When my now 12 year old (that your mom taught on occassion) was about 5, we went to Shark Valley in FLA. Stepped off the tarred walkway and onto the 3 feet of grass before the bank dropped away, and that 10 foot alligator that looked all but dead on the other side of the 20 foot wide canal was halfway to us in a millisecond. I totally yanked the kid back, causing him to cry and ask why I hurt him... I told him, it was because I didn't want him being alligator snack. (I'm Missy's neighbor)
