I'm spending a few days in Maine visiting my family and LOVING the MUCH cooler weather. I got off the plane at 10:30pm the other night and it was 60 degrees...heaven. DC has been so hot this summer that the break is much appreciated.
Last night my mother, brother and me met up with my other brother and his wife in Portland. We went to the Portland Museum of Art and then to dinner at Katahdin Restaurant - YUM! I had corn cakes with mushrooms served over garlic mashed potatoes and cooked greens, with a little chevre melted on top. Good eats!
Today we're heading to a yarn store in Hallowell and then to one of my favorite local restaurants, Slates, for brunch. After that we're off to Maple Lane Farm Pottery to pick up some more plates and other dishes to work towards my collection of mis-matched pottery for dishes.
More soon…
Enjoy it up there, it's sooo pretty! And be sure to look for some Tess' yarn, it's the most beautiful thing to come from Maine.
