It's my mother's 70th birthday today and we're planning a nice weekend together. James and Daryl arrive later today and we'll probably have a yummy dinner at home tonight. Tomorrow we're all getting together for brunch and then we're going to Portland to the art museum and then out to dinner at the Pepperclub. We're having a low-key celebration but celebrating none the less.
This picture is of my mum wearing a drop stitch scarf that I made her a couple years ago.
Yup...that's my parents, Ernest and Dianne. Today is their 47th Wedding Anniversary and I hope they have a great day. They have provided an incredible model of marriage especially in regards to open communication and understanding. The love and strength they share is unsurpassed and I feel very fortunate to have grown up with that love and be touched by it each day. They can also cut a mean rug - check that out here and here.
Have a wonderful day Mum and Dad and I'll see you tomorrow!!
...looking for coffee. Last nights dinner was fabulous. The restaurant made me an amazing meal with artichokes, squash, nutmeg, something a little spicy...anyway, quite tasty. I had dinner with the teachers who won a competition for writing an essay describing an innovative method for bringing science into the classroom and the children's science book author winners. It was great meeting all of them and a number of winners were from Maine.
This morning I'm up early for an 8am event, we're interviewing the book award winners and producing podcasts for each.
It's a busy day but good and maybe tonight i'll be partying at fenway!
Grant showed me this tonight...crazy funny.
