Waking Up to Snow!!

So for most Friday and yesterday, we heard "it's gonna snow, it's gonna snow" and we waited and waited, but the snow didn't come.  Here is what our backyard looked like mid-day.

So into the evening I continued knitting with Oliver on my lap as usual.  I'm making pretty good progress on my first potholder though Oliver doesn't make it easy. He's been having much fun attacking the needles.

When I woke up the this morning and opened my curtains I was happy to see this!

I was very excited!  Being from the northeast I really do love snow. I just don't like living it and I know my parents and friends are getting dumped on today.  That, I don't miss.  So Grant and I walked to church this morning and took a few more pictures. It was lovely out and I'm happy we'll get to enjoy it for a couple days.  I especially love this next picture with a little bit of spring peaking through the sticky blanket.

She's soooo cool!

So my new baby arrived yesterday and for quick clarification I mean my new imac.  She's very sweet and a nice change to my continually more sluggish ibook (which I still appreciate).  She has lots of new bells and whistles and it’s been fun tinkering around. It will definitely be better when working on graphic design and web work.New_imac_5

On the Knitting Olympics front, I’m very excited about starting tonight.  You can see the great colors of Manos del Uruguay that I’ll be combining in various ways for my felted potholders. I’ll check back in tomorrow and let you know how it’s going.  Good luck everyone!

More Big Bunny Details

There has been a lot of interest in the incredibly cute, snuggle-up, big-footed bunny (see further down). So I thought I'd add this link that tells a bit more about Herman, the German Giant.

Biggest Bunny Ever!!

Big_bunny Ok, so my friend ordered some angora from a farm/store (Irene and Mr. Sheep) in Canada a few months ago and today she received a note and picture from the farm of one of their bunnies.  Can you believe how big this bunny is?  The note said he's a family pet and very loved.  They think he's probably the biggest bunny in the world but he's not recognized by the World Book of Guinness Records because they don't measure animals anymore for fear of mistreatment.  Being an animal advocate, I was happy to learn that.

I had to share this amazing image with all my knitting friends.
