It's What's for Dinner

I had a yummy dinner tonight using some of the greens of got in last weeks CSA bag.  I sauteed some kale and lambquarters (very quickly) with some onions and garlic. I also made the dish, Mums Bean and Cheese Casserole from How it All Vegan. Both were quite tasty and I happily have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.

Also, I just returned from hearing our church choir perform in a concert, singing all their favorite songs.  It was incredible and a wonderful mix of contemporary, spiritual, African music.  If you ever want to hear amazing music on a Sunday before brunch, check out All Souls Church in DC...you won't be disappointed.

Lastly, my nephew Chris and niece Erin, both graduated from high school today...congratulations!

Three Cheers for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables!

So Grant and I picked up our first CSA delivery last night and look at all its green (and red) leafy goodness. I'm familiar with most of what was in the bag except for the lamb quarters, which as a veg head doesn't sound appealing, but for someone who likes sauteed greens, I think they'll cook up nicely. I'll let you know how things turn out.

I'm sure there will be more CSA postings in the weeks to come!

Some Knitting Knews

Right now I'm mostly working on Grant's socks and a couple little things that I can't mention because they are gifts.  Grant's socks are actually a bit further than this - I'm well into the foot and should soon be changing yarn for the toe. (I'm switching to a odd green color for fun and well in case Grant has larger feet than I expected.)

In other news, our  first CSA delivery from Fresh & Local CSA is today!  Here is what we might expect to find in our bag...
Look for these items in your share bag:
1. Strawberries
2. Spring Onions
3. Lettuce Mix
4. Heirloom head lettuce
5. Cut Green (bunched: chard, kale or collards)
6. Lambquarters (bunched)
7. Mizuna mustard

Yeah!
